During this seven-week part time course you’ll learn the full process of UX Design. Exploring the role of UX Designer, you’ll learn the importance of UX Design and its impact on usability. The skills you learn can be applied to a range of contexts, including web and app design for desktop and mobile.
This UX Design Micro-credential will give you the foundation knowledge of user experience design principles and practices, and to develop practical skills using UX tools and platforms.
How to research your users and create experiences tailored to their needs, while meeting the business requirements of a project.
Apply the principles of design to screen, interface and navigation design, and create working prototypes.
How to create effective usability tests to gather important user feedback.
Use iterative design process to prepare your design solution for development.
Ideal for those that want to combine their existing web design/development skills with UX Design expertise.
Live Online Classes:
Live online classes are a friendly and supportive alternative to watching video tutorials – you’re able to ask questions and receive answers from an experienced UX Design industry professional in real time. Your mentor will share their screen, demonstrating professional tools and techniques, then support you as you follow along, completing activities during class time.
Live classes are supported by an active class forum where your tutor provides additional information and feedback outside of class times. Classes are also recorded, so you can review them in your own time or log in to learn at a time that works best for you.

A webcam and microphone
Do not use a Chromebook - Chromebooks are not intended for heavy-duty processing such as Adobe Creative Cloud software.

Completed Enrolment Form - Upon application we will ask you to complete an enrolment form.
Verified Form of ID - We require certified copies of your identity and residency documentation. This can be a valid passport or birth certificate.
Proof of NZ Residency or Citizenship - If not stated on your passport of birth certificate, you will also need to provide proof of citizenship/residency in New Zealand if applying as a domestic student.
International Students - Please contact us directly here to finalise enrolment and payment opposed to applying online. This micro-credential is open to individuals living or residing in New Zealand only.
Learners will be eligible to enter this Micro-credential if they:
Are at least 16 years old, and
Have an interest in and some experience with Web Design or Development, and
Hold NCEA Level 2 or equivalent or have relevant work experience in a related field as evidence that they can succeed in the micro-credential.
Students with English as a second language require IELTS 5.5 (General or Academic) with no band lower than 5.0.
Remote Learning Requirements You will need a computer that has access to reliable internet, webcam and microphone.

Behshad Ghorbani - Tutor
Having worked as software engineer for over 15 years, Behshad joined Yoobee in 2016 for the role of Short Course Web and UX Design tutor. He has an education in Computer Science and a background loaded with web and software development, centered around UX Design.
Prior to his development role, he worked as a managing director. Behshad has a keen insight into what it takes to startup and run a successful online business. He thrives on work that challenges him to learn something new. Always ready for new business ventures, he has plenty of room up his sleeve for any potential opportunities. His passion lies with technology, as well as an avid collector of nostalgic and vintage Macintosh and IBM gadgets.
