NCEA Credit Course - Character Design
Combine your visual skills with storytelling to create your own character design. You'll learn how to use Adobe Photoshop like a pro 2D artist - using Wacom tablets provided for in-class use.

Create dynamic characters and learn industry techniques to bring them to life!
This 10-week programme covers:
The fundamentals of character design
Dynamic sketching techniques and effective us of colour and light
Develop a character profile and story
Idea generation and concept art
Plan your illustration project - Learn basic project management skills and working with a creative design brief
How to apply techniques for finishing a digital illustration to a high standard
These courses are applicable to those currently studying NCEA Level 1 - 3 and are comfortable and competent with Level 3 study.
Unit Standard details:
US 29791 - Capture and prepare digital media for integration into other applications. (2 Credits)
US 29790 - Apply digital tools to create and monitor a project plan. (3 credits)
US 29793 - Investigate, plan, design and create digital outcome solutions to meet the requirements of a specified brief. (5 credits)
